Memorial Day

Memorial day is celebrated on may 28th. memorial day is a federal holiday of the united states, it is for all those to be remembered that have died in serving this country. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials, particularly to honor those who have died in military service. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in the nation ceremonies. people are not to be confused with memorial day and veterans day because memorial is a day to remember those who have died serving while veteran are for those who have served   Over two dozen cities and towns claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day. While Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day. Memorial Day was borne out of the Civil War and a desire to honor our dead. It was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic. On the first Decoration Day, General James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery, and 5,000 participants decorated the graves of the 20,000 Union and Confederate soldiers buried there. memorial day was originally called decoration day but later on changed to memorial

Social Issue

What is your social issue? My social issue is weather or not we should tighten gun control.

Why is it such a social issue? What do people disagree about in relation to this topic? Its a social issue because, a lot of people think that we should not have guns because of all the chaos it would create. but in  the constitution we have the right to bear arms.

what is your proposed solution? Why do you think this is the best solution?

My best solution is to give everyone the right to have there own gun. and i know this is the best solution because the world is too the point where bad guys are always armed and the good people can do nothing about it, so if everyone has there gun, bad people would think twice because they’ll just see that this guy now has a gun and i shouldn’t mess with him. so with basically everyone owning a gun, we all can use a self defense mechanic sim. crime rates will decrease

What are cons to your solution? Some cons that go against me is that it would be total chaos. that gun control will never work. that even though good guys won’t get a gun, bad people will always have them.

So now i ask you, is it right for bad guys to only have guns?

And also is it right to violate our right to bear arms?

should the U.S. build a wall along the southern border

there are a lot of arguments with these both sides of weather the U.S should build a wall along the southern border. with Illinois  voting 51% yes and 49% no, there is debatable part to these sides. but on the way that the yes side looks at it, is that they want to keep the illieagle aliens out, they think that the US alone cant even take care of their own people. that there are money that can be used on the less fortunate. and of course educational purposes and health care. But a lot think about having just military there. although there are people on the yes side theirs people on the no side. and there opinion about it is that there is way to much money that is belong spent on the wall. that the money should be used on military and actual educations purposes with health care. and the way i see it is no we should not build a wall. this is a civilized country, and that is why we are here to help people. Yes there should be security though, but just mostly for the cartel. because people come here to look for a better life and we should help them do it.
